As
every cnc operator knows, sometimes there is vibration on cnc router
during the process of machining. Vibration will give us bad finishing or bad
job. So when we found there is vibration, we have to stop the machining process
and find solution for vibration. Many factors can cause machine shudder like
spindle RPM, feeding rate of axes and the mechanical rigidity.
In general, the vibration is
probably because:
a. value of spindle RPM is
too low
b. feeding speed of axes is
too fast
c. the material is too
hard
d. over the limit of cnc
router machine rigidity
In other words, the
machining parameter is not proper for the machine rigidity performance. Or we
can see the parameter we set is over the limit of machine mechanical rigidity
performance. So as solution we need to adjust the spindle RPM and feeding rate
of all axes. We can increase the spindle RPM and reduce the feeding rate to
solve the vibration. And spindle RPM and feeding speed of axes should be
difference according to different hardness of materials.
A CNC router machine with
good performance of rigidity gives you wide range on choice of machining
parameter setup. Or we can see, a good machine gives us more possibility on
machining performance. A good machine can work fast and accurately.
If you already own one cnc
router, the solution is only to get proper machining parameter; if you are
considering to buy one machine now, you can do more. You are suggested to take
the machine rigidity into your consideration. We can check this performance
from the machine construction, the raw materials and the process
technology.
1) Machine construction
means design of machine frame. Heavy duty design is better than general duty
design on rigidity.
2) The materials used to
make the machine frame. We can check with cnc supplier the thickness of the
steel they use for beam, frame and the support plate.
3) Is the machine frame via
VSR treatment? Process of vibrating stress is to reduce residual stress. This
process is very important to give a better performance on machine
rigidity.
